Intern Backend Developer

Among our in-house products are Emebet Jobs, a platform dedicated exclusively to connecting women with employment opportunities, and Maraki, a community and lifestyle application that focuses on connecting Ethiopian and Eritrean locals and Diasporas to their motherland communities for dating, event gatherings, and gym junkies.

We are looking for a Backend Developer Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, building the logic that powers applications, and writing clean, efficient code. You will work closely with senior developers to build and maintain the server-side systems behind our products.

• Strong foundation in Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience building REST APIs
• Familiarity with MongoDB or MySQL (Prisma is a plus)
• Understanding of Git and version control
• NestJS experience is a strong advantage

• Real-world backend development experience on different live and in-development projects.

• One-on-one mentoring and code reviews from senior developers.

• Exposure to professional software development workflows, tools, and agile methodologies.
